Background Information
Was born in Timber and grew up with fellow student Tsume (who lived with Kei and his mother) and enrolled with him, he also knows Balamb students Leon, Enzo and Maximus, though he didn't interact with them as much as he did with Tsume, despite being a few years older than Tsume (he was like a younger brother to Kei). He has owned his scythe since he was old enough to hold the weapon and has trained with it in the nearby wilderness against small monsters. The scythe was handed down to him when his father, an ex-mercenary, died when he was very little. Kei enrolled into Balamb Garden because he wanted to further hone his abilities and to meet his old friends. He has only just arrived at Balamb. He sometimes regrets leaving his childhood friend Rally behind.
Appearance
Physical Appearance
6 foot. Short, electric purple hair that spikes out forwards. Has a compacted muscle structure so appears to be lanky, but is still flexible. Deep purple coloured eyes. Lightly tanned.
Attire
Urban-camo woollen jacket, with or without a shirt underneath. Blue Denim jeans, darkish blue except on the front and back of the knees where it is light blue. Black fingerless gloves with a silver plate placed on the back of each one. Wears footwear which appears to be a strange cross between skate shoes and military style boots, with a black/grey camo pattern on them.
Analysis
Hyperactive and always cheerful, or at least tries to be. Tries to help out as much as he can but this tends to cause trouble. Some people have described his personality as being clinically insane, often acting/speaking without thinking first. Rather than doing anything to acquire friendship he just announces that he is someone's new friend, often without warning. Despite this in battle he is deadly serious, using strategic tactics in conjunction with his natural speed. Also in battle, whilst under the influence of his Berserk Haste limit break, he takes on a psychopathic nature which seems to cross his usual personality with that of a serial killer/mass murderer. He has a strange love of blood.

Limit Break Information
Triggers - Kei and his 'Elemental' buddies refer to the things that cause Kei to unwillingly activate his 'Berserk Haste' limit break as 'Triggers'. There are only two known triggers so far and they hope that it remains so, as far as they are concerned it is still two triggers too many.
Emotion Trigger - When Kei is within Limit Break proximity (when he is weak, as in the equivalent to low health in the FF games) his 'Berserk Haste' limit break may be triggered by extreme emotions (such as anger and loathing) on his part. This would explain his alternate personality almost.
Limit Trigger - Kei steadily loses his ability to choose which Limit Break he will use the longer he stays within Limit Break proximity. With enough pushing, he will lose complete control, and is 99% more likely to delve into the "Berserk Haste" Limit Break. It takes a far longer time for him to reach 99% probability if he does not perform any limit breaks. The more limit breaks he performs the faster the probability will increase.
Lightning Strike
This is quite similar to "Burst Slash" in the way that his speed increase tremendously for a short amount of time. At this point Kei rushes forward and slashes his enemy and then repeats from another direction. The amount of horizontal slashes may vary but this limit break always ends with the actual 'lightning strike', a aerial attack in which Kei appears above his enemy (usually after knocking them into the air with the ball on the bottom of the scythe staff) and stabbing them with the scythe, the force of which causes the enemy to fall at a high speed, straight into the ground.
Burst Slash
This limit has a very short lifespan in comparison to Lightning Strike. Basically he moves rapidly (almost instantly) from a standing position to another location, usually from in front of to behind his enemy, whilst slashing his enemy with his Scythe in between the two spots. Kei rarely uses this limit due to the mass amount of energy required to use it.
Berserk Haste
This is Kei's most deadly and dangerous limit so far. This limit causes Kei to enter a state where he appears to be under both the 'Berserk' and 'Haste' status. This isn't the case though, but is what gave Kei the idea to call it "Berserk Haste", and so it means it can't be removed by item or spell. This limit lasts for a random period of time (usually several minutes) and changes his personality drastically (see "Personality"). This limit increases his strength and speed greatly, but leaves him almost completely drained just like "Burst Slash". Due to the effect it has on his personality he rarely uses it by choice, because he is dangerous even to his own friends during its duration, but it can activate against his will (which is the case most of the time) due to various reasons.
Weapon Variants
Battle Scythe
Unlike the traditional wooden scythes this lightning blue scythe is almost as long as Kei is tall, and on the lower end of the handle there is a short chain [more chain is actually concealed within the main staff] connecting the main staff of the weapon to asmaller scythe style blade [approx. 30cm long]. The main blade is approx. 80cm long, with a jewelled counter weight producing from the other side [approx. 10cm long].
Kei also has a long sword which he made himself with help from a blacksmith when he was 13 but sadly had to leave it behind with his mother. He really wishes that he had brought it with him sometimes.
Weapon Explanation: Kei has always been fascinated at how useful and deadly such an awkwardly shaped weapon could be. He trained with it quite often since he was old enough to hold it (since he was 6'7" to be precise) and loves the fact that it suits his faster than average style of fighting without losing control of it.
7 years later, while on a vacation in Galbadia, he took a part time job at a weapon smith's shop and as payment the weapon smith made Kei a custom long sword with sort of semi-serrated edges. Even though he favours his Battle Scythe he still trained with his sword to gain a decent level of skill.
