Background Information
Daniel Bastion was born and raised in Galbadia. The son of a wealthy businessman and former Major of the Galbadian army, Daniel was sent to Galbadia at a young age. His natural talent with his chosen weapon, the gunblade, was praised among students and instructors alike, his attitude and lack of respect earned him a reputation as arrogant and undisciplined. Mere weeks before his first SeeD exam, Bastion was involved in a conflict which ended with him being expelled from Galbadia Garden. His fathers influence and a generous donation was enough to have his record wiped clean and enrolled at Balamb Garden.
Appearance
Daniel is tall and well built with excellent posture due to his many years training as a soldier. He is considered handsome by traditional standards, though this is often darkened by his constant scowl. His eyes are a deep blue that seem to contrast with his pale skin and long silver hair.
Outside of his Garden uniform, Daniel generally favours darker clothes. He can often be seen in a simple black tank top and black jeans when in the training centre. When not training Daniel generally wears expensive shirts and dark trousers, and he is rarely seen without his trademark black overcoat which has the Bastion family crest embossed on the left shoulder.
Combat Data
Daniel is best known for his physical dominance over his opponents. He likes to overpower his opponent early on with a series of fast-paced heavy blows. When he is unable to defeat an opponent quickly he tends to let his opponent attack him until they are sufficiently exhausted, at which point Daniel will attack with fast and efficient strikes.
His weapon of choice is the gunblade, a weapon very few students are able to wield effectively. Daniel's particular model is a modified version of the Revolver model, with a larger blade enhanced firepower.
While perhaps not quite as adept in the use of para-magic as some of his peers due to his years at Galbadia, where magic isn't taught, Daniel nonetheless has shown a preference for spells that enhance his natural abilities, such as haste.
Limit Breaks
Wrath
Daniel's physical strength, speed, as well as physical and magical defences are significantly increased. Daniel attacks relentlessly with a series of powerful strikes which are boosted with the added firepower of the gunblades trigger mechanism.
Despair
A single strike that causes a series of random negative aliments ranging from poison, slow, darkness, silence, sleep and stop.
Pride
Similar to WRATH but also casts a series of high level spells such as quake, flare, meteor and ultima, causing additional heavy damage to his opponent.
Vainglory
Daniel temporarily becomes invincible. His speed is boosted by a haste spell, and his strikes have a chance of causing instant death.
Weapon Variants
Authority
A large and powerful gunblade capable of causing heavy damage. The rounds in the gunblade are larger than average, causing powerful vibrations when the trigger mechanism is activated. Its drawback is its weight, making it a weapon best utilised by someone physically strong enough to wield it effectively.
